WESTSTAR Airlines joins Honeywell's Assurance Program

Honeywell Aerospace Group has signed a three-year agreement with Weststar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd, under which 23 AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters operated by Weststar Aviation Services have joined Honeywell’s Avionics Support Program. Weststar Aviation Services, a global provider of offshore helicopter transportation services, is headquartered in Malaysia.
Honeywell Aviation Electronics Support Program (HAPP) is designed to better support operators in maintaining fleet availability. Under the agreement, Weststar Aviation Services' AW139 fleet will receive comprehensive avionics system support, enabling more accurate cost forecasting and effective cost management. Additionally, the cockpit power system is also covered under the aviation electronics support program.
The demand for helicopter services in the Asia-Pacific region is steadily growing. As a result, fleet availability remains a top priority for operators. Honeywell believes Weststar Aviation Services can benefit significantly by leveraging HAPP to enhance its fleet readiness—and even save up to twice the cost of any unplanned maintenance event.

Recently, both the downturn in the oil and gas markets and sluggish economic growth have compelled our customers to restructure their cost frameworks. In response, we believe one effective way to address this is by reducing avionics maintenance expenses. By partnering with Honeywell, 23 of our AW139 helicopters have now joined the HAPP program. This collaboration not only enables us to manage costs more effectively but also enhances our ability to predict future expenses—allowing us to confidently reaffirm our commitment to sharing and easing the financial burden on our clients."
Through HAPP, Weststar Aviation Services’ AW139 helicopters will receive predictable, fixed-price parts replacement and maintenance services. HAPP will provide Weststar Aviation Services with Honeywell spare parts replacement programs, complemented by 24/7 helicopter ground-based emergency rescue services, as well as paid air transportation and complimentary parts loaning—minimizing aircraft downtime. Once an aircraft covered under HAPP is sold, this comprehensive service package can also be transferred seamlessly. Key benefits of the program include: no additional fees upon renewal; fleet-wide discount options; factory-backed support services equivalent to the original manufacturer’s warranty; flexible payment plans, allowing operators to renew annually or opt for a one-time payment covering several years at current rates; and access to a global network of supply hubs along with an extensive network of authorized distributors and service centers.
HAPP is an extended warranty program designed for both business and general aviation, offering one-year or longer coverage for most Honeywell airborne avionics equipment—without requiring operators to meet specific aircraft age or retroactive fee-payment requirements. The plan is priced based on flight hours, aircraft type, and the cost of onboard equipment, with fleet operators eligible for special pricing arrangements. HAPP covers all products needing spare parts and replacement component maintenance services—regardless of how long they’ve been out of warranty.
