On April 23, Shi Yongqiang, founder of Zhongke Power, led a delegation to Hangzhou for in-depth cooperation talks with Zhejiang Yage Flight Technology Co., Ltd. The discussions were a resounding success, culminating in the formal agreement on a strategic partnership.
This collaboration provides critical support for expanding the application scenarios of Zhongke Power’s rotary engine and for selecting the propulsion system for Yage Flight Technology’s aircraft, representing a powerful alliance between China’s indigenous aviation power industry and the light-aircraft sector—and marking an important step forward in the development of China’s low-altitude economy and general aviation.
This collaboration stems from an unwavering commitment to technological excellence and a fanatical, pure passion for the craft. As Zhang Xue’s mentor, “Ya Ge” (Zhang Jixing) is a legendary figure widely recognized within the industry: he clinched the motorcycle racing championship in 2003 and went on to win 14 national off-road motorcycle championships over the course of his career. After officially retiring in 2015, he pursued his dream of serving the nation through aviation, dedicating himself to the R&D of light sport aircraft, drones, flying karts, and other aerial vehicles. In 2025, he founded Zhejiang Ya Ge Aviation Technology, with the ambitious goal of developing high-performance, civilian-grade aircraft that are truly made in China.
Zhongke Power has devoted itself to the R&D of aero-rotor engines, overcoming key technical bottlenecks such as high-altitude adaptation, high-temperature performance degradation, and seal wear, and achieving 100% domestic production of core components. Several rotor engine models have successfully completed their first high-altitude flights and entered mass production, equipping domestically developed aircraft with an independently controllable “Chinese heart.”
Building on this round of discussions, the two parties will use it as a starting point for collaboration to advance the deep integration of rotary engines with light aircraft, accelerate technology deployment and product iteration, and leverage their robust technical capabilities to drive the independent development of China’s aviation power systems—ensuring that domestically produced engines and aircraft can soar together through the skies.
